Kurīn is a rather comfortable, convenience and engaging place to do your laundry. The first of its kind, Kurīn evokes friendly and calm ambiance to those wanting to wash.
The project started in early 2015, when the owner wanted to renovated their family-owned shophouse. They wanted to have a business that conveys their values, fulfils the need of the locals and provides convenience for people. Hence, the project developed to not simply being a coin laundry shop. We wanted to create experience for our customers.
Conveyed in the interior is subtle finishing for the walls, detailed flooring and fully utilitarian furniture and fitting. We wanted to keep things down to what they really are and exaggerated on the laundry machine. Watching those laundries spinning are somewhat a therapeutic experience. The laundry machines are intentionally located on the side of the shophouse facing the road. This is to enhance visibility from the road since the traffic at times are quite busy in front of the shop.
